About Biola

Biola University is a nationally ranked private Christian university located in Southern California.
Established in 1908 by Lyman Stewart and T.C. Horton, Biola began as the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles at the intersection of Sixth and Hope. With a move to its suburban La Mirada campus in 1959, Biola became a college and then in 1981 a university.

For over 100 years, Biola University has remained committed to Jesus Christ, the inerrancy of Scripture and biblical Christianity (within an evangelical Protestant framework), as well as to the spiritual, academic and holistic growth of those who are personally committed to Him. Biola strives to provide its students a biblically centered liberal arts education — equipping them in mind and character to impact the world for the Lord Jesus Christ.

With more than 5,600 students spread over its 145 academic programs and seven schools, Biola offers degrees ranging from B.A. to Ph.D. In addition to its undergraduate School of Arts and Sciences, Biola offers degree programs in the following six schools:

  • Crowell School of Business
  • Rosemead School of Psychology
  • School of Education
  • Cook School of Intercultural Studies
  • School of Professional Studies
  • Talbot School of Theology

  • As a global center for Christian thought and an influential evangelical voice in broader academic and cultural conversations, Biola University aspires to lead an intellectual and spiritual renewal that advances the cause of Christ beyond its campus borders and to all the ends of the earth.

    Event Location

Biola University is located in the town of La Mirada, California, amidst olive groves and palm trees and a whole lot of sunshine. Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm are even closer.
